Expert on physical activity, built environment will serve three-year term
Rodrigo Reis, PhD, a professor at the School of Public Health, has been named co-editor of the Journal of Physical Activity and Health.
Rodrigo S. Reis, PhD, a professor at the School of Public Health and an expert on the intersection of physical activity, the built environment and health, has been appointed co-editor of the Journal of Physical Activity and Health (JPAH). His three-year tenure begins in January 2026.
Reis is the director of the People, Health and Place Unit – St. Louis, which is part of both the School of Public Health’s Prevention Research Center and the international People, Health and Place Research Group. His research on the impact of the built environment on people’s physical activity has contributed significantly to global efforts to reduce sedentary lifestyles and improve health outcomes.
The Journal of Physical Activity and Health is an interdisciplinary peer-reviewed journal that publishes a broad range of research on physical activity and its implications for health. As co-editor, Reis will collaborate with a team of editors to oversee the journal’s peer-review process and work with other members of the journal’s leadership team on strategic initiatives.
