Tyler Frank is one of several WashU Public Health doctoral students who will graduate this spring with a PhD.
He started his journey toward a doctorate in 2019 via the Public Health Sciences program at the Brown School, but leaves the university as one of the first graduates of the School of Public Health.
He has been at Washington University throughout his college years – earning a master’s degree in applied health behavior research in 2018; and a bachelor’s degree in psychology, with a minor in music, in 2015.
During this years at WashU, he worked as a lab manager and research coordinator in WashU Medicine’s Taylor Department of Neurosurgery Department, among other roles.
He has collaborated on projects relating to food insecurity, mental health, implementation science, and data for social impact. As a PhD candidate, his focus has been on the interplay between adverse childhood experiences, household food insecurity, and health outcomes in perinatal people.
He tells more about his doctoral work in this video.
