Xinyi Liu, PhD, is a professor of anthropology in Arts & Sciences. An archaeologist of food and environment, he studies plant domestication, the origins of agriculture, and the deep-time globalization of food systems. Liu is particularly interested in how insights from early farming systems can help address contemporary challenges of food insecurity and unsustainability facing humanity.
