William G. Powderly, MD, is the Dr. J. William Campbell Professor of Medicine at WashU Medicine. Also the director of WashU’s Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences, Powderly is focused on helping translate advances in biomedical science into improvements in population and community health. Powderly led WashU’s Institute for Public Health from 2013 to 2025, and he was instrumental in facilitating the establishment of the new School of Public Health.
