Michael Durkin, MD, MPH, is an associate professor of medicine at WashU Medicine and the section chief of infectious diseases at the St. Louis Veteran’s Administration Medical Center. His research focuses on improving patient care by using large administrative datasets to evaluate clinical practices, adherence to guidelines, and safety and effectiveness of common medications, with a focus on antibiotics and opioids.
