Joan Luby, MD, is the Samuel and Mae S. Ludwig Professor of Psychiatry at WashU Medicine. Luby studies depression in young children, including how experiences such as poverty early in life affect brain development and risk of depression. She also develops and evaluates psychotherapeutic treatments for early-onset psychopathology.
