Fangqiong Ling, MS, PhD, is an associate professor at McKelvey Engineering. Ling studies microbial ecosystems to improve water supply safety and public health. Using genomics and computational models, Ling investigates the principles underlying the diversity, functioning and resilience of microbial ecosystems and explores their role as ecological sensors and public health sentinels.
