Faculty Development Seminar: Effective Negotiation at Work

This seminar will be presented by Hillary Anger Elfenbein, PhD, MA, the John and Ellen Wallace Distinguished Professor of Organizational Behavior at Olin Business School and a member of the WashU Public Health secondary faculty. She is known for her research on emotion in the workplace, including how emotions impact negotiations.

Elfenbein received her undergraduate degrees from Harvard University in physics and Sanskrit and Indian studies. She also earned an M.A. in Statistics and a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior jointly between the Department of Psychology and Harvard Business School. Elfenbein has worked at Monitor Company management consulting, and her work has appeared in journals such as the Academy of Management Annals, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Psychological Bulletin, and Psychological Science.
