Civic Action Weeks 2026: Translating Research to Policy

Understanding policy-making processes is crucial for researchers who want their work to lead to meaningly policy impact. In a presentation from Timothy D. McBride, PhD, MS, students will learn how research can be framed and disseminated to contribute positively to change efforts. This will include best practices for designing written products that will effectively and succinctly communicate findings. McBride will also share insights from his own career, including examples and tips on how one can overcome the culture clash between researchers and policymakers. We hope this event will inspire students to think about the end users of their research and ways in which they can become directly involved in policymaking processes. Register here.
