Student life

Our commitment

WashU Public Health is dedicated to providing an environment of academic rigor and excellence that prepares students to be future leaders and difference makers in public health.

Students will have a range of opportunities to participate in interdisciplinary research and practice during their educational journeys, helping them to identify and chart their ideal paths.

Life at WashU

WashU Public Health is situated next to Forest Park — one of the nation’s great urban parks and home to many major St. Louis cultural sites and events. Our beautiful city has a small-town feel with big-city institutions and opportunities.

At and around WashU

In addition to those provided by the School of Public Health, WashU provides several resources to help students during their academic career.

Universitywide student groups

WashU’s welcoming and inclusive environment builds supportive connections among students. WashU has a wide range of student groups and organizations that spur networking and lifelong relationships with fellow students and faculty.

Career services

The WashU Center for Career Engagement provides career coaches who help students assess and refine goals. Students can further hone their skills and deepen their network through a Career Community, which allows students to broaden or narrow their focus based on long-term professional goals.

Health & wellness

WashU is committed to providing students with medical and mental health support services. WashU Public Health students have access to the Student Health Center as well as the Sumers Recreation Center on the Danforth Campus.

In St. Louis, For St. Louis

Part of WashU's Here and Next strategic vision, "In St. Louis, For St. Louis" is an institution-wide commitment to create lasting impact and opportunity in St. Louis and beyond.
